Volunteering at the National Constitution Center is a great way to get involved in your community while learning more about our nation and its rich history. By contributing your time and knowledge, you can learn something new, share what you already know, meet new people, and have fun!
- Volunteers must be 15 years of age or older
- Volunteers should be friendly, outgoing, and enjoy working with people
- Volunteers should have an interest or background in history
Volunteers:
- Greet our visitors and assist them in finding their way
- Work in exhibit areas
- Assist with hands-on learning opportunities
- Work at special events
Volunteer opportunities are available seven days a week between 9:00AM and 5:00PM. Volunteers may work mornings, afternoons, or a full day, but must commit to a minimum of four hours each time they volunteer, and volunteer at least one day per week. Special Event volunteers must sign up for at least 3 events per year in order to remain active.
You may choose any of the following options:

Volunteer placement is by interview only. The first step is to complete the application and return it to the Center. Feel free to contact the Human Resources Department with any questions you may have. We can be reached at volunteer@constitutioncenter.org or 215.409.6761.
All volunteers are required to attend a mandatory orientation session prior to beginning their volunteering. Job-related training is provided by Center staff from the department in which the volunteer is working.

The National Constitution Center is pleased to offer an internship program for college students.
All intern applicants are required to fill out an Internship Application . Please be sure to indicate on your application, which position(s) you are applying for. Our intern positions fill up quickly, so we encourage you to apply early. Most intern positions are available year-round.
Through the Center’s Internship Program, students can fulfill school-sponsored internships for credit, or non-credit, as determined by the school, while also gaining experience and insight into their future career goals.
Internships are unpaid, but benefits such as free admission to the Museum, and discounts in Museum Shops and Restaurant are available.
