NEH Landmarks in History Workshops

A Revolution in Government: Philadelphia, American Independence and the Constitution, 1765-1791

Stipend: $500 + Travel Expenses up to $300

Experience American history in the heart of Philadelphia! This workshop explores the American Revolution and the creation of the U.S. Constitution through the use of the Center’s innovative museum exhibits, lectures by leading scholars, interactive discussion and visits to numerous historic landmarks. Teachers Grades K-12

Changing the Constitution: Politics and Law in American Constitutional Development
July 28 - August 1, 2008

National Constitution Center, Philadelphia, PA 
Ronald Reagan Presidential Library, Los Angeles, CA
Stipend: $1000 + Travel Expenses up to $300

Explore political thought and constitutional change with leading experts in the field! Join fellow educators from across the country and leading scholars to discuss the processes of Constitutional change. This workshop is being offered simultaneously on both the East and West Coasts, and will take advantage of each institution’s unique collections and exhibits. Teachers Grades 7-12

Teaching the Presidential Election
June 26 - 30, 2008

Location: National Constitution Center, Philadelphia, PA
Stipend: $1,000 + Travel Expenses up to $300

In 2008, teachers have an extraordinary opportunity to engage students in civic learning that only comes once every four years: the Presidential Election. This summer, study every stop on the road to the White House and develop curriculum that will give your students, and every student that visits our new national exhibit, a truly unique and fascinating experience! Join the Constitution Center staff and visiting scholars as we work together to develop a revolutionary national curriculum for the teaching of the presidential election.
