BETH FRERKING
Beth Frerking is an assistant managing editor at Politico, where she has worked since its launch in January 2007. In one of her many roles at Politico, Frerking spent a few fascinating weeks reporting from the presidential campaign trail with then-Senator Hillary Clinton. She now oversees editorial development of the Politico Network, a content and revenue-sharing partnership among Politico and more than 100 newspapers and television news websites around the country. Frerking has nearly 30 years of experience as a national reporter, Washington bureau chief and journalism educator. As a reporter at the Dallas Times Herald, she was part of an investigative team on the air traffic safety series, “How Safe are the Skies?”, which was a finalist in the Pulitzer public service category in 1986. She makes frequent appearances for media outlets such as ABC News Now, Inside Edition, CNN, and Politico’s sister stations WJLA and News Channel 8 in Washington. Frerking earned her bachelor’s degree in journalism, with honors, from the University of Texas at Austin, where she was editor of The Daily Texan student newspaper. She lives in Maryland with her husband and two teenage sons.
