Sylvia Gurinsky
Sylvia Gurinsky, born in Miami, Florida, is a lifelong South Floridian. She graduated from Florida International University with a B.S. in Communications in 1990. From 1990 to 2003, Gurinsky worked for WPLG-Channel 10, Miami’s ABC affiliate, first as an editorial writer, then as editorial director and public affairs producer. From 2003 to January 4th of this year, she has worked for the Delray Times and Sunrise Forum community newspapers, and as assistant editor and then editor of the Jewish Journal and Shalom Today weekly papers. Gurinsky is currently a freelance journalist and blogger, and work part-time as an educator for the Historical Museum of Southern Florida.
