JULIA M. KLEIN

Julia M. Klein is a freelance cultural reporter and critic, a contributing editor at Columbia Journalism Review, and a regular contributor to the Leisure & Arts page of the Wall Street Journal. Her writing also has appeared in the New York Times, the Los Angeles Times, the Washington Post, The New Republic, The Nation, The American Prospect, Mother Jones, Ladies’ Home Journal, U.S. News & World Report, and other publications. A former reporter and editor at the Philadelphia Inquirer, she is the recipient of fellowships from the Fulbright Commission, the American Council on Germany, the Alicia Patterson Foundation, the National Arts Journalism Program, and the Western Knight Center for Specialized Journalism, as well as four awards from the Greater Philadelphia Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists. She graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Harvard College, with degrees in English and American History and Literature, and lives in Philadelphia.
