SUSAN A. NIELSEN

Susan A. Nielsen is an associate editor at The Oregonian of Portland. She writes a Sunday column and editorials, and represents the newspaper in the community. She is also a regular guest teacher for local journalism students and an occasional contributor to National Public Radio. Nielsen has won the Scripps Howard National Journalism Award, the American Association of Sunday and Feature Editors award, and the National Society of Newspaper Columnists award. Nielsen is a former board member and convention chairwoman of the National Conference of Editorial Writers and a current board member overseeing journalism publications at Portland State University.
