CHIP REID
Chip Reid is Chief White House Correspondent for CBS News. Chip joined CBS in 2007 as Capitol Hill Correspondent, and covered the 2008 presidential campaign. Prior to joining CBS, Chip spent 11 years as a correspondent at NBC News, where he covered all major Washington beats. He also covered foreign news for NBC, including the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, where he was embedded for 6 weeks with a lead unit of the U.S. Marines during the initial march from Kuwait to Baghdad. Chip covered Al Gore's 2000 presidential campaign, including the recount, and the impeachment of President Clinton. Prior to joining NBC, Chip was a local TV reporter in Washington for 4 years. Before making the switch to journalism, Chip practiced law, as Counsel to the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee, and at a major Washington law firm. He has a BA from Vassar College, an MPA from Princeton University, and a JD from Columbia Law School.
