The National Constitution Center invites educators to spend a week learning history and government at the National Constitution Center, in the heart of Historic Philadelphia.
Annenberg Summer Teacher Institute
America's Constitution and the World
July 26-30, 2010
America's Constitution and the World explores the nation's diplomatic history, from the creation of the young republic to today. Participants from across the nation and around the world will gather at the Center to learn from top scholars and each other.
Lecture topics will focus on the Constitution's impact on a variety of past, current and future foreign policy decisions, from military action to environmental treaties and economic policies, as well as the Constitution's influence on emerging democracies. Educators then join the dialogue on these topics by modeling new methods for deliberation that can be used in their classrooms.
For teachers of grades K-12.
This workshop includes a stipend of $1300 to cover hotel, travel and other costs.
