    Free Speech in Wartime
    January 16th, 2005

This conference, developed by the Rutgers School of Law at Camden in collaboration with the National Constitution Center, delves into the effects of war on our First Amendment rights and civil liberties. The conference was inspired by University of Chicago Law School Professor Geoffrey Stone’s new book: Perilous Times: Free Speech in Wartime from the Sedition Act of 1798 to the War on Terrorism. In introducing the event, Center President and CEO Rick Stengel cited Stone's premise that the best test of the health of Free Speech is during war.
