Ron ChernowNational Book award winner Ron Chernow discusses his new biography, Alexander Hamilton. Historians have long criticized Hamilton for his aristocratic intentions, but Chernow presents a markedly different Hamilton - a man fired by a patriotic desire to build the foundations of American power and prosperity for all citizens. Unlike Jefferson, whose vision of a pastoral, often slave-holding America faded with time, Chernow asserts that the prophetic Hamilton foresaw the nation’s current economic and political might, as well as our stock markets, banks, factories and great cities.
